The Not-so-Grand Return

I've been waiting for this day for a long, long time.

When I started Musings of an Introvert back in 2012, I had planned to make it a daily feature of my life. On the first days of the blog's existence, I used to have a new post every couple of days. It wasn't simply a few quick lines or an embedded YouTube video, content on Musings of an Introvert's heyday was all given a great deal of thought into.

That period also happened to be my Christmas and New Year holiday break from college. I spent the majority of it in New York City with a colleague of my dad. In between subway rides from Queens to Manhattan and back, I was able to keep the blog fresh with new content.

For 2 weeks, that is.

When I returned to college, I had to move my belongings to my new campus in Philadelphia. Getting used to a new surrounding while simultaneously taking advanced Journalism classes diverted my attention away from the blog.

I also began to play DotA again, which probably was the main culprit.

In any case, I simply couldn't keep the blog updated anymore. Musings of an Introvert went into a hiatus, one that is much longer than I wanted it to be.

Since then, one of the constant thoughts on my mind before going to bed had always been when would be the right time to get the blog back on its feet. I thought of doing it during college breaks, but homework and other personal commitments stood in the way. How about a summer return? Nope, said campus jobs.

I wrote my last blog post as a junior in college. I graduated without another one.

But now that my college days are behind me, and that I've successfully landed a relatively stable job, there's just no more excuses.

Musings of an Introvert is back.

This time two years ago, I authored probably one of, if not the proudest piece of my brief writing career. Instead of enjoying the New Year's festivities in Times Square or Brooklyn Bridge, I decided to wander around Harlem, much to the dismay of my dad's colleague, and documented my so-called little "adventure".

The writing quality wasn't where I wanted it to be back then, but it was the idea that made me so proud of the post.

You can check it out here, if you haven't already: http://huysworldview.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

And now, here I am today, in a similar scenario as this time two years ago. As 2015 approaches, making Musings of an Introvert a daily feature of my life will be my new year resolution.

Blogging takes a great deal of commitment. And I have to admit I didn't have it the first time around.

But I will this time.

Happy New Year, everyone.
